Indigenous Women in Sport and Recreation Connecting Communities, Empowering Voices, and Leading Together
Join us for a powerful gathering dedicated to honouring and uplifting Indigenous women in sport and recreation- as leaders, knowledge keepers, and changemakers. Together, we will create space to connect, share, and move forward in strength and solidarity.
Dates: June 27–30, 2026 (Travel days: June 27 and June 30) Location: Blachford Lake Lodge
This gathering is a safe and dedicated space for Indigenous women, welcoming participants from across NWT communities to build relationships, share knowledge, and support one another.
What’s Included:
Travel, accommodations, and meals provided
Please note: per diems are not included
Participants may need to cover one or two meals
Activities Include:
Sharing circles
Yoga and wellness sessions
Traditional art and painting
Canoeing and fishing
Sauna and hot tub relaxation
Facilitated Discussions:
Supporting women and girls in sport and recreation
Regional sharing and community connection
Safe Sport and Indigenous coaching approaches
Exploring invisible and emotional labour in sport leadership
Come as you are. Share your voice. Build community. Lead together.
Capacity is limited. Must be 19 & older to attend.
