Indigenous Women in Sport and Recreation Connecting Communities, Empowering Voices, and Leading Together


Join us for a powerful gathering dedicated to honouring and uplifting Indigenous women in sport and recreation- as leaders, knowledge keepers, and changemakers. Together, we will create space to connect, share, and move forward in strength and solidarity.


Dates: June 27–30, 2026 (Travel days: June 27 and June 30) Location: Blachford Lake Lodge


This gathering is a safe and dedicated space for Indigenous women, welcoming participants from across NWT communities to build relationships, share knowledge, and support one another.


What’s Included:

  • Travel, accommodations, and meals provided

  • Please note: per diems are not included

  • Participants may need to cover one or two meals


Activities Include:

  • Sharing circles

  • Yoga and wellness sessions

  • Traditional art and painting

  • Canoeing and fishing

  • Sauna and hot tub relaxation


Facilitated Discussions:

  • Supporting women and girls in sport and recreation

  • Regional sharing and community connection

  • Safe Sport and Indigenous coaching approaches

  • Exploring invisible and emotional labour in sport leadership


Come as you are. Share your voice. Build community. Lead together.


Capacity is limited. Must be 19 & older to attend.
