2026 Traditional Games Championship Registration Now Open

We’re excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2026 Traditional Games Championship (TGC)! This year’s event will take place at École Sir John Franklin High School from March 27–29, 2026.

The Traditional Games Championship brings together students ages 10–12 from across the Northwest Territories to celebrate skill, sportsmanship, and culture through Northern Games and Dene Games. Last year’s event even welcomed participants from the Yukon, and we are looking forward to another year of friendly competition.

Schools interested in attending are asked to complete the registration form below. At this time, please provide two main contacts for your school. We will reach out individually to confirm rosters and additional details as the event approaches.

Registration Costs:

• $5,000 for fly-in communities

• $3,000 for drive-in communities

• $1,200 for Yellowknife, N’dilo, and Dettah schools

Included with Registration:

• Transportation

• Accommodations

• Meals throughout the event

• Event swag for all participants
