Russell Lake (North of Behchokǫ̀)


Get ready to take aim. The 2025 NWT Archery Championships are set for an exciting weekend of competition, community, and northern adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or just discovering the sport, this event is open to archers of all ages and experience levels.


Who Can Participate


This championship welcomes participants from across the Northwest Territories. Competitors will be grouped into the following age categories:

  • U14

  • U18

  • Open (all ages)

You can choose to compete using a compound bow, a recurve bow, or both.

Accommodation

Traveling from outside Behchokǫ̀ or Yellowknife? No problem. We’ve arranged accommodation options in nearby school classrooms and at the Youth Center.

Please note: Athletes and chaperones must bring their own sleeping gear — foamy, sleeping bag, pillow, cot, etc.

Registration and Inclusions

Registration Fee: $40

This includes:

  • Entry to the 2025 NWT Archery Championships

  • Archery NT membership

  • A welcome gift bag

  • Water, snacks, and drinks

  • Meals:

    • Dinner on Friday and Saturday

    • Lunch on Saturday and Sunday

Friday, September 19 4:00–6:00 PM – Open Practice 6:00–7:00 PM – Dinner 7:00–9:00 PM – Open Practice


Saturday, September 20 9:00 AM–6:00 PM – Full Day of Competition(Lunch and Dinner provided)

Sunday, September 21 9:00 AM–12:00 PM – Final Rounds 12:00–1:00 PM – Lunch 1:00–2:00 PM – Awards and Closing Ceremonies
